“Our passion is to ensure all human beings have clean water and food ‒ the basis of life. Through WAF we promote sustainable initiatives that focus on this quest, helping to replicate and scale them worldwide. For example, the Permaculture Institute has fantastic potential for other countries throughout Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.”

WAFA BEST PRACTICES AWARD
The news is bad. Two billion hectares have suffered human degradation; that’s the size of Russia and India combined. 700 million people lack clean water, and 800 million are undernourished. Today 28,000 people will die of hunger. “Food deserts” proliferate, even in developed societies. And in the middle of this, climate change is forcing farmers off their land. Yet, clean water and healthy food are every person’s birthright. And together, we can all make that a reality. WAF has identified proven breakthrough solutions from around the world.
